7 Unexpected Ways To Boost Your Dog's Day-To-Day Wellness
When it comes to dog wellness, two things are essential: kibbles and walks. But why stick to the same old script when you can infuse a dose of some...
If you’re a pet lover, then you may know that the Global Pet Expo is the place to be to see all the latest and greatest products for our furry friends. The DOGTV Pack tries to get to the expo every year, and after missing last year (thanks, Covid) 2022 did not disappoint. We had a chance to catch up with pet industry friends and colleagues, and visit with one of our favorite veterinarians!
We had a wonderful time and came away with a bunch of new (and new-to-us) dog products to share with all of you. It was tough, but we narrowed it down to ten:
One of the first things to catch our eye was the new line of Nylabone toys. These toys are designed to keep dogs entertained and engaged, and they come in three different varieties: Shuu, Springa, and Tuug. We think your dog is going to love playing with these toys, and can’t wait for them to hit shelves.
Of course the folks that brought you TV for dogs wanted to know about beer made for dogs! So we were excited to see Best Buds Dog Beer at the expo. This craft dog beer is made from pasture raised, grass-fed beef bone marrow, and it’s a great way to treat your furry friend. Cheers!
These portable doggie water bottles from Springer are lightweight and easy to use, and they don’t waste a drop. You squeeze the BPA-free water bottle to fill the attached bowl. Then when your pup is done drinking, release the squeeze and any remaining water will drain back into the bottle. We love that they come in 3 different sizes – Mini, Classic, and Growler – and an assortment of fun colors, so you can find the perfect fit for your lifestyle.
The Yeti Puff and Play is a new idea we hadn’t seen before. It’s a chew toy that comes with special “Yeti Nuggets” that fit into the hole in the middle. Microwave for 1 minute and watch the nuggets puff up to double in size. After it cools down, your dog has a long lasting treat to enjoy.
We see our share of snazzy collars, but this one made us do a double-take. In addition to GPS, the Invoxia collar also has award winning biometric technology and uses embedded Artificial Intelligence. These features allow you to monitor your dog’s heart and respiratory rate in a non-invasive way. It’s not currently available for purchase, but you can get on the Invoxia mailing list now to get first dibs (and a 10% discount).
A treat toy that cleans your dog’s teeth while it keeps him entertained? Yes, please! The Busy Buddy Cravin’ Corncob is also dishwasher safe, BPA free, and comes in two sizes, and comes with treat rings. You can also get refill treat rings in a variety of flavors, so you can keep your pup busy all through barbeque season.
The unique puzzle toys from Zippy Paws have been a favorite of ours for a long time. They are a fun way to turn your dog’s meal time into a brain game and teach problem solving skills, so we were thrilled to see that Zippy Paws has introduced two new designs. The Wagging Wheel and Sunflower both look like a great way to kick off breakfast with some mental enrichment for your pup.
They also introduce a series of new slow-feeder bowls in fun shapes and colors. Slow-feeders make your dog work a little harder to get to the good stuff – causing them to eat up to 10 times slower, and helping to prevent bloating, belching and choking. Now you can let your dog join in on the fun during pizza night.
Their Lick-a-Bubble product was originally created for human children, and now the folks at Bubble Universe are breaking into the pet industry – with bacon! Of course you can blow these pet-safe bubbles the old fashioned way, but they are also safe to use with bubble toys, making them that much more fun. And did we mention they are bacon flavored?!
Finally, we have Snugarooz . This collection of interactive toys is sure to keep your fun-loving dog entertained. They have rope toys and cat toys, and their super cute collection of plush toys is made from recycled water bottles. You can spoil your dog with all the toys (like this rainbow with burrowing unicorns), and help the environment at the same time – it’s a win all around.
That wraps up our favorites from Global Pet Expo this year. We can’t wait to see the next round of new and innovative products in 2023 – but in the meantime, we have found lots of new products to enjoy with our pets til then.
