In many areas of the country, a brisk chill is in the air. The foliage is a brilliant miasma of reds, golds and greens. Leaves are falling and crunching underfoot. We have come up with 5 fun fall adventures to have with your dog.

Many dogs and dog parents huddle indoors during the hottest, and must humid, days of the summer and snuggle in during the biting cold and snow in the winter. Autumn is a wonderful blend of cooler temperatures, beautiful colors and adventures to be had!

5 Fun Fall Adventures To Have With Your Dog

If you’re a new pet parent or if you’re looking for unique and different ways to enjoy this beautiful, colorful season, here are some options to consider.

Take a hike! There is nothing better than to bundle up in layers of clothing, lace up your hiking boots and hit the trails. The changing leaves and movement of the woodland critters lend themselves to a wonderful and relaxing way to spend time with your pup. Make sure you thoroughly check your dog — and yourself — for ticks once you leave the woods. Bring along snacks and water for you and your pup on your hike.

Plan a Dog-o-Ween party! Admit it, you’re a “crazy dog person” and you have friends who feel the same love and passion for everything dog. If that’s the case, plan a dog-o-ween party! Invite friends and their furry pals to your house. Prepare treats for the dogs, food for the humans and don’t forget to plan a dog-o-ween costume parade! Give prizes to the best costume. Hint: They will ALL be great costumes — give every pup a prize of a delicious homemade treat.

Visit a pumpkin patch. Many pumpkin farms are dog-friendly. Take your favorite furry pal, take your camera and snap some wonderful photos of your doggie in the pumpkin patch.

Take a wine tour. Again, many wineries and craft breweries are dog-friendly. Find a few in your area, grab a designated driver and your dogs and hit the wine/brewery trail. Sip a few new brews or wines, take some treats and water for your dogs and make a day of it. Wander the grounds of the brewery or winery and just enjoy the day with your friends and your dogs.

Plan in indoor adventure. Not every autumn day will lend itself to outdoor adventures. Some days there is nothing better than to grab your favorite warm beverage — tea, mulled wine, coffee, hot cocoa — a blanket, your favorite furry bestie and a warm blanket. Snuggle together on the sofa, under a blanket and catch up on your favorite movies. If you have work to do or if you’re making holiday crafts, turn on the DOGTV for your pup (you just might enjoy the sights and sounds, too!)
