Hi Humans!

I hope you had a pawesome weekend!

Today I’d like to tell you about the NY Dog Film Festival – and their new awesome on demand collection!!

For those people who already appreciate the DOGTV concept of being able to offer high quality entertainment for their dogs at home, when the people are out and about, the On Demand collections of the NY Dog Film Festival™  makes perfect sense!

What is the NY Dog Film Festival™  (NY DFF)?

The NY Dog Film Festival™ is a philanthropic celebration of the love between dogs and their people, offering family-friendly canine-themed films from around the world that inspire, educate and entertain about the love between dogs and their people.  After a New York City premiere every fall, the Festival then travels around the country to a growing number of cities, in every location supporting a local animal welfare group which brings people and pets together. That mission is also an important part of the work of the Petco Foundation, which is the Founding Sponsor of the NY DFF.

How is the On Demand Collection Different from the Traveling Festival?
Because the theaters that are able to show the NY DFF cannot possibly reach every dog-loving person in every community nationwide, it was logical to create specially curated collections (different from those shown in theaters) which would bring canine-themed films right to wherever dog lovers are.  While many of the actual theaters are able to invite dogs into the theater, most are not – which gives the On Demand collection the advantage of letting people curl up with their whole family, dogs included, to enjoy the experience.

And the On Demand collections do good for others, too! Every download benefits the filmmakers who made the dog-loving films, and also supports the innovative national animal welfare organization, Michelson Found Animals, a non-profit that supports pet owners and shelters. Found Animals created the first free national microchip registry, they funds research into next generation spay/neuter technology, they provide affordable high quality products for shelters, and have their own adoption centers in Los Angeles.
