The Benefits Of Adopting A Senior Dog

Spread the word! November is National Adopt a Senior Dog Month. DOGTV is here to celebrate our wise senior pups with our latest adoption installment. We have put together a wonderful video to show the advantages of adopting a more mature fur-baby.

What are benefits of adopting a senior dog?

  1. Senior dogs may require less monitoring than a puppy does. Chances are, a senior dog won’t be chewing your shoes!
  2. Senior dogs are probably already trained BUT if your new senior companion isn’t you can teach an old dog new tricks!
  3. Their size won’t come as a surprise. A senior dog is as big as he will get!
  4. Most senior dogs are already housebroken — although some senior dogs do have indoor accidents (but so do puppies!)
  5. Senior dogs are calmer than puppies.
  6. Senior dogs love and appreciate a day-to-day routine
  7. Senior dogs always seem especially grateful to have found a new forever home.
  8. Senior dogs still love to go for walks, maybe just not as far or fast as a puppy.
  9. Senior dogs are happy to curl up on the couch and watch DOGTV at the end of a long day — or in the middle of the day!
  10. Senior dogs are loving, faithful amazing companions!

Open your heart and home to a senior dog today. Ask your local shelter if there are any senior dogs who are waiting for their forever home and welcome them into your home!
