How DOGTV Started

Believe it or not, DOGTV didn’t start as a TV channel for dogs. The idea for Pet TV was born when founder Ron Levi had to leave his cat Charlie home alone during the work day. After compiling a few YouTube playlists for Charlie to watch while he was out, Ron realized that a pet channel could be a beneficial way to entertain animals when home alone. He dove into the research and saw that a tv channel with the right content could help ease stress and anxiety in pets - and pet parents.

Ron began to work with scientists, researchers and pet experts to bring his pet channel to life. As the research began to show that dogs respond to different types of programming than cats, he realized that in order to make the biggest impact, Pet TV needed to be DOGTV. With Charlie’s blessing, Ron shifted into creating television programs for dogs.
